June 20 is the RD (paper filing). Service center is Texas. EAD expires on Sep 24th.
Case status is still "Pending"!
I applied on June/25/2008 (Efilling) for me and spouse. My receipt date was on June/26/2008 for both EAD and AP. Still waiting for approval.

I didn't think my answers were making fun or teasing anyone - sorry if you felt that way, I didn't mean them to be interpreted like that.
The main problem is that no one really knows for sure whether these steps are taken in sequence. There is little to no transparency. There are procedures, but we can not guarantee that they are followed.
To answer your second part. No, I don't believe there are any standard updates that indicate this, but I could be wrong. I think that there is an update if you clear it, but not if you are stuck in it. Make sense? Pappu has an excellent post that details the name check process http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12000
To answer nlssubbu with the query about the "pre-approval" - I don't think it is a 1 time thing. Its a fairly standard USCIS practice. I have a link somewhere to the IO AOS processing manual. If I can find it I'll post it here.

To make an impact, we need in the order of 50,000 to 100,000 letters with their personal US address on it. Anything less doesn't hold any water..
Are you kidding me. Nobody will write personal address on a letter. Even if they write one, it will be a fake address. and forget 50-100 thousand letters. Even IV members are not that many. Have you ever wondered where all the applicants are when we say there are 500 thousand or 1 million backlog?

Will it really create ablity to pay issue when an employer keeps many I140s without pay and create a problem for future Gc processing? If that is really an issue then cancelling I140 is not retaliation. People can post their views.

Looks like "yes", especially if a companyh is sponsering too many GCs for people who are not on the payroll - they have to prove they have enough funds to pay the future employees.

Same experience. The checks were cashed super quick and the receipt notices were also mailed out. Now we wait in anxiety to see whether we receive the 1 year or the 2 year EADs.
Based on my research, any processing that they do after June 30th, in most cases, they will issue 2 year EADs.
Just wait for 2 months.
From USCIS perspective, EAD is probably the most simplest thing that they do. Dont worry much about it. It will happen. You will get a 2 year EAD.

I agree with both the ideas.
In fact the idea of the banner with 'Waiting for X years' is fantastic ..
That would be an amazing sight where everyone holds placards that say since when they have been waiting.
If it's even 400 people .. we have 400 people saying look we've been waiting since 5,7 or 9 years.
It's also important to get in heavyweights like either local folks like Google HR head or any public face. Google has always supported the Immigration issues .. since they have problems because they couldn't hire folks when the h1 lottery happenned.

I feel sorry for the people who live in slums of dharavi but not for people who should not have been in the US in the first place (based on their education) and are now finding ways to get ahead of the legit EB2 candidates by buying masters degrees.
They are NOT buying MS, they are inquiring where the fees are cheaper. If this is buying MS, even you *bought* your Masters (and every other degree) unless you are from the 1% who get full scholarship (you would definitely have been in EB1 had you been in that layer).

Earlier it was 140K times 7% = 9800 with everybody and now it is 90K times 10% = 9000 with most of them gone into new merit based system.

Approved or soon-to-be-approved I-140 folks (like me) will get GC on time or faster and others with Maters degree will get GC in 1 or 2 years, and rest must have got admission to MS by now. and there will be some loophole to bank on which will be realized by our stupid Joe after a few years.

Yes, facing the same issue. I mailed my application on Jan 12th, got the receipt on Jan 28th.
Hoping the information would get updated today. If not, we would have to wait till 15th. I tried calling the 1800 number, the support person had no idea on the updates since this case is with the National Records Centre.

I and many folks in this forum have seen very few approvals for this category. How come USCIS says that this category is over subscribing the visa quota. Why they are moving un used visas to EB2 (no offense) why not for EB3?
We need IV help in this area.
