Very Disappointment for me.....as i missed it with couple of days.
Visa Bulletin for September 2010 (http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5113.html)
I'm not sure if they are going to move dates in Oct or not...
vishwak,
I just got off the call from uscis regarding my I-485. My PD is in the first week of Mar 2006.
Per the USCIS website, they are suppose to process even the first week of Mar 2006 although the Aug VB says it is 01MAR06. I spoke to the second level IO and he was confident that my case would have to wait for the next month. I insisted that the uscis website says otherways, he went and verified with the third level (or his peer) and came back and told me that I was correct.
Infact told me that my case was pre-adjd and being reviewed by IO currently.
I am sure the same applies to you with the Sep VB. Good luck !!!
Note: This is not a legal advice and don't quote me on it.

These are the talking points that AILA is suggesting for calls made to the Senators, as one can see AILA's focus is broad and I'm not sure how else they could have been of help when they are doing essentially what IV is doing ie calling, faxing or lobbying with a broad based approach. They possibly could put IV's news releases or messages as part of what has been sent to the Senate. I urge everyone visit this link (http://www.aila.org/RecentPosting/RecentPostingList.aspx) and see what pro-immigrant groups are doing or saying which is not significantly different from what IV is doing :
Call your Senators (http://capwiz.com/aila2/callalert/index.tt?alertid=8554496&type=CO)
(please call between 9am & 5pm)
Ask For: Immigration Staffer
Talking Points:
1) Tell your Senator to support the Judiciary Committee's comprehensive immigration reform bill!
2) Tell them that we need a workable solution and path to eventual permanent status for the 12 million undocumented!
3) Tell them that we need a new temporary worker program that offers labor protections and a path to permanent status!
4) Tell them that the family and employment backlog provisions in the Chairman's Mark are good and should remain in the bill!
5) Tell them that full access to the Circuit Courts of Appeal must be preserved!

As I see, most of you are missing the point. Instead of trying to understand, you showing the maturity of mind. The whole purpose of EB immigration is to meet the Demand(Job opportunities) vs the supply(immediately available candidates).
When there are a lot of opportunities exists for EB3 level(skilled profession) and less opportunities exists for EB1(Ph.D/Executive Director), USCIS should give more no. of Visas to EB3, then EB1.
A country cannot be built with only the kings, and not even a home can be built with only Ph.Ds(Nobody do the dishes).
Well said !

AP Filed/Reciept date: June 1, 2010
Created an SR request : ~ September 20, just got standard email saying Intial Review is still in progress.
We have an Info-pass appointment tomorrow. We chose the 45 day not response option. Not sure if that is ok when we get there.
Is there anything else I need to know before I meet a rep during the Infopass appointment.
We plan to take all relevant documents, along with a copy of email from a conference in Canada where my wife is invited.
Any input will be great.
-Thx
Please post your info-pass experience. We are in the same boat. My wife's AP is pending since 6th June 2010.

Guys MY PD is feb 2008. I am recently watching vias bulletins. I am in EB2.
Based on my watching previous visa bulletions ( after sep 2008) I dont see that it makes major difference if you file in EB3 or EB2.
Both are backloged very much and sincearly I dont hope inspite on being in EB2, I will get EAD or GC till 2015.
What are your thoughts, is it worth filing in EB2?
I think it's worth filing in EB2 if you can. The way spillover is working right now, EB2 India is greatly benefitted. Also whatever data someone got from USCIS (through senator inquiry), there are less EB2 India pending (~50,000) than EB3 (~70,000) until July 2007.
Last year India EB2 got ~15000 visa numbers. If the trend continues then within 3 years India EB2 cutoff will reach 2007. This is way better than EB3I, which I don't think will cross even 2003 within next 3 years.
Please contribute for FOIA cause, which will give us more data for predictions. Hopefully we can predict with 80% or better accuracy once FOIA data is with us..

Exactly what happens when thousands of people contact senators instead of one fax from one organization with one point of contact just so that if some one actually calls back from the senator’s office we at least have some one who could explain the situation in a way that makes sense?
There is another side to that coin, Senators will not be swayed on an issue unless it directly affects a constituent of theirs. AILA has fax and mail campaigns and so do anti-immigrant organizations such as NumbersUSA who according to their organization last week in only 3 days claim to have sent 120K faxes! IMHO one fax will not cut it, a hard copy letter with every single member's name signed to it would be great but picture the logistics with only 2 days to act. I again refer to AILA, AILA has sent letters (see my earlier post referring to the links) but also urges the public and pro-immigrant groups to contact congress enmasse with content that they provide. As for the person who couldn't articulate the issues, that is indeed unfortunate as one in a worst case scenario can always give their personal story, be it retrogression, BECs, H1 cap, H4 inability to work etc etc or if they need to gather their talking points request an appointment to discuss the issue.

KrishGreen and others,
I understand from the posts that some of you got i-140 and other perm labor documents. Would it be fine to write on g-639 as mentioned below to get I-140 and other perm related documents
Request for a copy of approved i-140, petition of i-140 and perm labor documents.
Could you be more specific or elaborate what to mention on the g-639 form under #4 which says Identify the documents records , or information you are seeking?
Please validate and this would greatly help to others. The only reason I am asking is I am not sure what documents can be requested such as perm labor can be requested or not. Your help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
SS

msgs like this help establish the notion that this is an indian website dedicated to indian immigration issues. I didnt see any post wishing happy Eid/ Eid Mubarak nor did I notice last year that anyone wished a Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays, nor do we wish our Chinese friends a Happy Chinese New Year.
As Diwali is national holiday in india... same is true for Eid and Christmas.
Would greeting on Eid or Christmas will also set the notion for Indian website ?
Happy Diwali to all :)

That is not an issue You can freely go. Almost no questions about job when using AP. I used it 3 times so far. f some one randomly asks, may be you can mention that you used AC21.
I had a question on the experience at POE if one has used AC-21 and working for an employer who is doing the W-2 but the person actually works at the client site.
All the posts I see here have been that people were randomly questioned on POE about whether they are still working for their sponsoring employer or not?
What about my case? I had filed I-485 during July fiasco, had an approved I-140 then. Changed jobs on EAD using AC-21 in Oct 2008, and again changing now second time.
The first change I did was when I was working with the same employer who had given me
the EVL.
I never travelled out of US during this time.
Now I will be working at a client site, which is different from the employer's address. Just want to know if there could be any issues?
Or is it advisable to not go to India until GC comes... which could be infinite number of years...

US Economy Facing 'Death by a Thousand Cuts': Roubini - Financials * Europe * News * Story - CNBC.com (http://www.cnbc.com/id/32837255)
Additionally, non-government bonds will face pressure, the securitization market is all but dead, the credit markets are still frozen and consumers will continue to save more rather than spend and boost growth.
"It's going to be death by a thousand cuts," said Roubini, chairman of RGE Monitor and economics professor at New York University's Stern School of Business. "The financial system is severely damaged, and it's not just the banks."
Roubini predicted more than 1,000 financial institutions could fail before all is said and done.
At the same time, he said housing prices are likely to fall another 12 percent in the next year40 percent overall since the market began its steep declineand about half of all homeowners will owe more on their mortgages than their houses are worth.
Ahh, I was wondering what happened to the nay sayers. Here we go again. I agree with the general consensus that owning a house is a personal matter; depends on each person's own situation. I am amazed by why some folks are hell bent on making others agree to their extreme opinion; be it "yes you must buy" or "no you must not buy". Everyone is correct in what they think is right for them. For the record, I don't own a house, at least not yet. :)
