Your good fight on the retrogression issue kind of kept us going without giving up. In just a few days what some of you have done with www.immigrationvoice.org is amazing and it truly deserves a lot better than the faint response they have got so far from all of us in this legal black hole. Honestly, I do not care if we are not able to raise 100K dollars for the lobbying efforts for the next immigration bill on February. I don not care if this money is finally lost. It will be money well spent if we all realize that we have to do something instead of waiting years and years and years� Any money is worth the effort regarding our goals, even if our present intention does not succeed. Is worth it!!. Lets move on, hoping for the best� It is worth to try this next immigration bill. Any money spent on this is worth it� Can not you guys see it? More and more years on this black hole!! More years paying our lawyers for H1B renewal, more years for renewal of our driving licenses, more years for our wives to wait, more years for our employers exploiting us� This next immigration bill could be our last chance in many years to get our unfair and sad situation known and probably solved. IP is banned?
I am sure he has heard of IP hiding techniques. If I were banned based on my IP, and I consistently want to post dividing threads on IV, would I not use a hidemyip plugin or post thru one of the hide my IP websites?

Dont give him ideas. I wouldnt ban based on IP as I know many guys from same company can be members of IV. We dont want to ban all of them.
Second, I would not ban him, instead make him part of us for a collective action. He seems to have a big group and they are planning to do somethings in which we have interests too. If his agenda if fully like those of IV or mine in my thread, then its not a bad idea to do something rather than waiting for a shubh ding for EB3 to become current or move drastically. Mr President you are the symbol of hope not only for the citizens of USA but also for all of the immigrant community. I have pledged on the funding drive thread to pay $20 monthly through paypal (I have also made one time contribution to the fund drive).
I am writing this to encourage others to send their monthly payment through paypal for amounts less than $50 if you want to. Monthly payments help plan things better for IV.
Question to the core, if you feel $20 per month through paypal is too much overhead for IV, I can collect my monthly payments and make onetime contributions instead. Its minimal effort for me either way, really.

....this is a grass-roots organization and any highly skilled legal immigrant should be able to donate $25

But let's face reality for a moment - as several senior members routinely point out, inspite of our organization having several thousand "highly paid" members, the "donor" base is very limited. As Zen says in a truly Zen manner "we are where we are"...and we have to figure out where to go from here. Unquestionably, I am really thankful to our highly dedicated Core team for sacrificing their personal time and making all of the efforts that have led to substantial progress over the last few years for the immigration community. However,, that with a new government in place, we now have a truly unique window of opportunity to make some progress and the question before us is how do we maximize our potential to take advantage of this? The real beauty of my proposal is that we could leverage the enormous dedication of the core team and multiply it several fold, if we could build a strong donor base that provides us the funding required to engage effective lobbyists. Needless to say the more the funding, the stronger can be our lobbying.

It is a paradox that an organization founded on the net and is still subjecting itself to the constraints of "physical communication" via the local chapters. I thought they were taking a step in right direction with the creation of the "Donor Forum", however, for some reason, we still seem stuck in the previous mode of operation. We can find a middle ground here that would not compromise confidentiality or our goals - one alternative (certainly not the only one I am sure) is quite simply, email updates compiled by one person (for consistency and uniform direction) that go out a distribution group, where the "donors" on the distribution list, have been vetted by the local chapter coordinators. I know this takes work, but if the Core is looking for a person to pull together a Conference Call to compile this update and send it out, I would be glad to volunteer my services.
Still I've some open issues. If you look at the poll, there isnt a single person who voted NO. We should expect to see a healthy mix of Yes,No and Dont Care. In reality though, everyone who has viewed this thread (1563 views when I last checked - even if you assume each person has checked this thread at least 10 times, that's about 156 individuals out of whom only about 35 have voted so far!) and not bothered to vote is essentially voting "No"! However, again as you point out, I am not really looking for the "No"s since these people have clearly decided they don't want to part with their money at this stage (not ascribing any reasons or motives here - just stating the facts). Instead, my focus is on coalescing a group around those who voted "Yes" since they, like me, agree that they would contribute more if they received more regular updates of what is going on. Our organization just needs a little more "organization" (pun, intended :p) to make it more effective! Again, just reality but that is also the usual natural evolution of most organizations that start out as pure grassroots organizations.
I really do believe there are substantial number of folks out there who can be engaged more effectively in this process and I invite the Core Leadership team to put more thought in figuring out how to achieve this - I hope you take my suggestion constructively!

As of right now, YES. It is possible if you are in US. You submit the US birth certificate and that is the proof (Amendment 14) of your citizenship. If you are outside US, the process is slightly difficult that you have to convince the consulate/embassy.
Same is not true on the other side. Once you get US Passport, you have to do some "dramatic" actions to get your Indian passport back even if you are ready to renounce US Passport, because we follow rules (!!!) strictly.

Thats what my Question is......how i am gonna prove it i paid 3k for my H1. They are deducting 500 (for my H1) everymonth from my paycheck in the name of CASH ADVANCE DEDUCTION.
I really want to teach them a lesson....so that they stop messing many vulenerable people like me who go to them every year. Could somebody tell me how i am gonna complain DOL in new jersey about this company and does DOL really takes any action.

So gc101 would be safe if his PD becomes current before his file is pre-adj or get's stuck (!) in something like FBI namecheck after pre-adj. which might allow him time to add his wife's name.

Ron has not made prediction specifically about India. Somebody asked Ron about filing I-485 with May 2004 PD without mentioning that (s)he was from India. So Ron probably assumed RoW. The OP later clarified that (s)he is from India and Ron hasn't replied to that. So let's wait for Ron to reply before getting excited about it.
If Ron meant EB3-I, he's probably expecting a July 2007 kind of bump, which allows a lot of people to file but results in very few approvals. This can be inferred from his statement that, "your priority date will become current, briefly, in a few months".
