This is wrong. EAD can be issued when both of the following conditions MUST meet:
I140 has been approved
I485 application is 180 days old

Are there any transfered cases which got approved? I am yet to see one. My service center is TSC but my case starts with WAC as it was sent to Calif for data uploading ...my bad luck...I will be current next month but i doubt any transfered cases will get approved...

I can confirm that DC allows you to renew online without looking at your immigration status. If you live in DC, make sure you renew online as I got it renewed for 4 years online.

Please stay together....we will get this permission.
If our parents stay in US, US economy will improved. We will be buying health insurance and food for them.
We will stop sending money to our native country. All money we earned will be spend here. We will be travelling more. Shopping more. etc.
This will help to improve US economy. I want to see US become super country like how it was when Bill Clinton was president.
We have a great present now. I was impressed by his speech about family value and raising kids together as family. I am sure, we will get help from him.
You know, How J2 visa holder got permission to work in US. A person fight for it and got it for many.

I always loved this board for what it does - especially the Gurus who always spend their precious time giving input to member's queries. Well... this is not query. I just want to vent my frustration, helplessness to fellow friends in this board. In spite of graduating from a reputed univ with a Masters and very good GPA and also having 7 years of professional experience, I am bound to be a slave to my current Employer without any promotions, career growth or anything remote to that for next (God knows how many Decades) several years. ppl who are junior to me in every aspect are growing left and right and are also getting brighter opportunities. I dont care if you guys think I am jealous of them.... But does God really exist ? sorry for wasting your time with this depressing note. If my priority date is retrogressed at the time of processing my EAD and AP, will USCIS keep the EAD and AP on hold? Or will they process EAD and AP and hold the I485?
Yes, EAD and AP are issued and renewed as long as I-485 application is pending. It does NOT matter if the PD is retrogressed.

The price of GC is what you assign to it. The value of GC is not what other people tell you it is. If you get depressed, make your life hell - it's because you chose it. My PD is 2010 in EB2 and I came here in 2004. I know what I'm getting into and it's my decision so I won't fret about it or get depressed. GC is just a document, it should not define you or your life.
Enjoy time with your Family, wife, kids - it's priceless.....a new sports car will also help. Life is a great gift and will have ups and downs....don't let GC define who you are. I rejected filing in EB3 3 years back with a big 4 consulting firm and changed jobs. I also feel this "promotion" thing but I chose to be in that position. My friends in India are all PM's and Sr PM's.....they got what they chose.
Life is decided by the choices we make, not GC. GC is just a document. Enjoy and celebrate life.

Its very easy to preach 'Life is decided by choices we make', 'your luck/fate, success is decided by your own effort, talent', 'if you have it, ppl will notice it and you will succeed' etc. when you spend the most energetic, productive part of your life in a country, you would expect that country reward you with atleast opportunities to prove your mettle. not to say its immensely painful when ppl who came years and years after you get GC and grow leaps and bounds right in front of your eyes.
P.S. I am not questioning your qualifications or anything.

I am in CP and I am writing to them to allow CP filers who are already working here in the US to file for AOS (even if the PD is not current) anticipating a very long delay for EB3 I. That way we could get atleast the minimal benefits like EAD, AP.

I came to us 02 june, bought home in 03 August. I applied for GC in Sept 2006. GC has nothing to do with house. If you can get a loan and buy in a decent locality buying any time is beter than renting.
