Guys ... please help. I am trying to get PCC from my local police station and they are giving me hell time here... and I am running out of time. The local police station guys are saying that they will only give a letter in white paper (No letter head) and they are insisting that it will not be used. What shall I do and I have to submit my documents by tuesday by latest.....

Normally PCC is always issued on plain white paper with Police stamp on it and it should be sufficient.
Process is --> apply at local Police Station > They come and verify your home address ( take signature from 2 neighbours ) > they send it to local deputy commissioner office for his signature
If you want it quicker - just keep running along with your application at all stages. I got it done on the same day

My current job, 140 is approved, and employer ready to file 485. But there is also a risk of layoff in coming 2 months. Employer won't revoke I-140, if he had to let me go.
I have another employer interested and has filed H1 transfer. I am in the 7th year of H1.
If I let current employer file I-485, and also get EAD/AP. Then if laid off after 2 months, and new employer ready to wait for 2 months from now, understanding the situation.

I got an approval email from CRIS last week on my I-140.
Today I received an email saying the notice that USCIS sent was returned as undeliverable.
Any one has similar experience? Where does the I-140 approval notice go- Attorney or Employer address?

Do not worry about your H1 extension, it will be denied automatically. Your plastic card should arrive by this weekend, have fun!

common consensus seems to be -->
if u have a valid/unexpired h1 petition, then even after using AP, u can continue to use the H1 for 'work authorization' ( u dont need to use EAD at the same employer).
But after using AP, officially ur status is 'parolee' and not H1-B. (official status of entry as put on i94 doc)
After using AP, u can further extend ur H1 if u want to -> in this case your status officially changes to H1b from parolee.
After using AP, if u desperately need to get back on H1 (for whatever reason) -> u can either extend ur H1 or amend ur H1, both these will put u back on H1.
Some people also say if u have used AP , but still have a valid h1 petition and desperately want to get back to H1, then u cud go to a consulate abroad, get ur h1 visa stamped and reenter and once again ur officially back on H1 ( seems valid, but i dont know anyone who tried this)

Ask your H1B holding company what should be your reply in case Consultate asks you about client details. This question will come to you 100%. So prepare for it. If you and your H1B holding company is satisfied then its fine. One solutions could be to mention in DS 156 that you are workking at your H1B holding company place. But its just a thought. Discuss it with your company.

I am confused by why the priority dates for EB2 is worse than EB3. Could someone explain?
It's because of retrogression. Example....
Case 1:
John applied in EB3 in 2002, had his labor/140 cleared.
John changed companies in 2005, now was eligible for EB2. Used older priority date.
Now John has 2002 PD in EB2.
Case 2:
BEC labors coming through.
Case 3:
Non-RIR cases getting approved (note that non-RIR labor takes a long time, ~4-5 yrs)
Whether to choose EB-2 or EB-3 is hard.
Fresh blood coming on H1 will typically be EB3. But by the time their visa numbers
become available, they might move to EB2. Or maybe they won't if EB2 worsens. Right
now I think it's a fair game between the 2 categories (IMHO).
If 140 premium starts again, then it might get crazy. Apply for new PERM (choose the least retrogressed category), apply for 140.....all in 5-6 months. Now port your PD from
whatever earlier 140 you had.
I don't think there is a rule that once you have a Labor/140 cleared from EB2, you can't
apply for a fresh labor for EB3 :-)

The only time they keep an original is the first time. After that they never keep the original but return it to you when you return.
My wife and I only had 2 AP originals when we applied last year and made 2 trips outside the US. So relax and dont worry. You're fine.
Got my AP in the mail yesterday but have only 2 originals, last time I got 3 so any idea if I will be able to make more than 2 trips out of the country?

stake and getting power after more than 10 years they are more cautious.

in 2008. As of now things are going in their war because of the mess in iraq
resulting is massive independent voters more inclined towards DNC.

In short, you employer ( current and or future) need to start GC process for a EB2 qualified job all over and pay all expenses, you will be able to port your priority date at I-140 stage, upon approval request USCIS to update your I-485 with new I-140.

I am currently working on my EAD for past years since July fiasco. I have over 12 years of experience. My employer who originally filed for my GC, had filed it for EB3 since then I did not meet the requirements for EB2. (I do not have a master's degree)
I have 12+ years of experience now and am working for a big pharma company on my EAD since. I filed for AC21 and left my original employer three years back and since then I have been working for the same company as a senior technical Lead.
I do not have a valid H1-B any longer. Is it possible for me to do EB3 to EB2 porting. What are the requirements and would I need my current company to file for me, or can I do it on my own through lawyer?

With that handy, if they come back with, 'no way' I can go back at them hard saying they are BS'ing me and call their bluff.

you will need their help in the future. They cant "sell" your approved labor(as in the past), it belongs to you and you only. Your priority date would be the day you filed your labor so that doesnt change. Just keep politely pestering them with case info give then reasonable (or more than reasonable time) before you give up. Sorry I cant be much of help here and no unfortunately cant post any screenshot only the HR and attorney has access to the system. Good luck!

I have an Olympus C2100 Ultrazoom. The real focal length of the lens is given as 7mm to 70mm (38mm to 380mm on 35mm equiv). When I operate the zoom lever, a bar appears in the viewfinder with T at the top and W at the bottom. Can I assume that this scale will be linear in terms of the focal length ie if the number of steps between W and T is 30, would each step increase the focal length by 63/30 mm (=(70-7)/30)? This would,however, mean that my standard 50mm equivalent focal length would be only one step up from the W end of the scale, which does not ring true. In which case, is there an easy way to 'calibrate ' this scale?

First, I don't know, and the details probably differs from camera to camera. However, my guess is that the zooming action is not linear. More likely the "steps" are larger at the tele end as each millimeter of focal length counts for more at the wide end.
As to calibration... maybe set up a scale on a wall, look at it at 7mm and mark the edges. Zoom in until you see half the width (which corresponds to twice the focal length - 14mm) and look at the focusing indicator what's shown. Zoom in again to show 50% of the last view, 28mm... etc.
