And I am talking about bigger US media outlets. And I am also not speculating. I am 100% sure. Please send the flowers as per these directions from IV core. True - that's exactly what the Adjudicating Officer told me today when I went in for the Interview :)......They want to avoid another July 2007.
So, for efficiency, they are just pre-adjudicating some of the applications; so that, they don't get overwhelmed when dates move forward - they simply have to press the button for 'Card production ordered' message!
In fact, the officer told me that he has 'approved' my application and will have to just wait for the dates to become current to get the actual plastic - also for fyi.....they can also deny the application instantly or request more evidence or call for a follow up interview. They actually give you a letter indicating what happened during the interview (it obviously doesn't say your application is approved - but it will explicitly say whether your application needs a follow up interview or additional evidence).
Although officially so far, USCIS has not branded an I-485 status as "pre-adjudicated", if you haven't received any RFE and/or any other negative status about your 485, and if your case is outside the processing dates of the Service Center, then obviously dude your case is pre-adjudicated.
I tend to believe that the offical status of being "pre-adjudicated" is coming soon. A few months back I read that USCIS is considering publishing another set of date known as "Qualifying Date" in their monthly visa bulletin. That date will define if you are "qualified" to file I-485. They will determine this date based on their workload. The idea behind is to avoid another July 2007 fiasco. They intend to process the 485's early rather than have you wait for your PD to become current. That way they will manage their workload efficiently and avoid visa wastage. Yes, the EB2I pre-Apr 2003 approvals have slowed down considerably, USCIS cannot keep clearing backlogs forever if there aren't many backlogs to begin with.

No issues at all. I had to wait a little longer as I was referred to a special processing Q. They just looked at my passport and the two AP copies (nor I have shown them anything more myself) I received from USCIS. They stamped on both and returned me only one copy. I-94 issued for one year from the date of entry.

No, She don't have pay stubs and office just asked her husbands pay stubs ( for whom she is a dependent) and she didn't mention about her H1 and not attached H1 release in the visa documentation. She just attended for H4 visa with only documents that required for H4.
What did you mentioned at line # 30 and # 38 of DS-156?

Ronhia, I appreciate your comments. It needs conviction, dedication and consistent efforts to make such accomplishments. Moreover it also demonstrates the character of a person, who can motivate and inspire other kids in a positive way.. especially in an environment full of negative distractions.
If spelling bee competition is considered merely as just cramming the dictionary, as you rightly said we need to really spend some time looking beyond your own shell.
When you open a magazine, for sure, you tend to come across pages that may not be of interest to you. We skip the page and move on rather whining with words (yucky, stupid, senseless) that are inappropriate.
"Winning a national competition is not so great"... again it depends on what is so great to you !!!..

Bingo! I was about to say this -- Under COBRA, govt will pay 65% of the payment. I have been to this boat before and COBRA is extremely expensive (~1500 dollars a month for a family of 3).
Also, you need to talk to a lawyer! Desi companies....what can I say.... no company should terminate anyone in the 9th month of pregnancy.
Status wise both you and your husband are OK. Just make sure that both of you renew AP and EAD on time.

I personally don't think any dramatic change will occur by december. You should probably follow your lawyer. This is a reasonable guess based on warnings issued in the November bulletin and assuming that even if any positive legislation is passed there will not be any movement in December bulletin - such movement would occur only later.

India EB-2 moved by approx 6 months. China EB-2 did not move. Actually, EB-2 India has gone back to where it was before it became unavailable last year. Unfortunately, we may not see a lot of further movt in EB-2 India if all those labor numbers (cleared) are correct. But this is good news for those who applied for labor in late 2002, but their application was pending for a horrendous amount of time and just got cleared. They can get EADs.

Our state is like Indian farmers. Indian farmers look for rain in July, August and september for good harvest...we look for July, Aug and Sept for good visa bulletin. Government will not do anything for hard working farmers in India and here for hard working professionals.

One irrelevant question: Why did you wait till Aug 15th, 2007 to file your 485 when your date was current in June and you could file in June 2007?
Just noticed your question - I was actually one of those stuck in the notorious BEC. As luck would have it, my Labor cert which had been stuck in local office processing first and finally made it to the second stage of labor was stuck there as well for months until it seemed like they finally were processing applications that had been received at the same time as mine. Then it happened - all labor processing centers were scrapped and everything was shipped in boxes to the blackhole called BEC. Little did I know then the upfront delay of months would be insignificant compared to the delay of almost 4 years at the BEC. In fact, my labor cert hadn't been processed by BEC even when the Jun 07 window opened up. As luck would have it though, in the month when everything was rolled back, my labor was finally cleared (thank god for small mercies!) and I was able to apply for both I-140 and I-485 when the window opened back up temporarily between July 30th and Aug 17th. Of course, I am still last in the line since USCIS processes based on application received data and not priority date! However, as I mentioned earlier, I am thankful to all of the efforts of IV that led to the window opening back up, which actually enabled me to file my I-485 and eventually receive an EAD (if not, would have still bee completely dependant on H-1, 11th year, now)

Did you send it to the address generated on the receipt?

We applied to NSC. Documents were sent to address generated on the recipet.
As I wrote earlier, EAD was approved which was sent in the same folder.
How do we create 'expediate request'? we are not planning to go out this year.
How do I connect to IO directly? Service Reps are the call center are useless!!
