Made my second contribution last week.
Some of my utility bills and credit card companies did mistakes and overcharged me so all that credit coming back to me is on its way to IV !
Please $100 is not a lot folks, we definitely are not on minimum wage - look at the illegal immigrant forums, they are on minimum wages and they seem to be pitching more !
We can do this ! I just think about the core team in DC spending time and money for everyone so the least we can do is open our wallet, please, please, please !!

1. If you are in IT field, you don't even have a grasp of software development lifecycle and the part QA plays in it. A good QA cycle is essential for a good quality product. It is your ignorance about software development cycle that makes you say good QA guys are not an asset for a good product and they are not smart as developers.
Well I am not a software engineer but I do understand the role it plays so I do know im not dumb. Thank you for your words of wisdom.but I wouldnt agree with the fact that people have to be flown in from other parts of the world for this, yes there are corner cases in every product validation cycle which needs really talented people the vast majority do not do that
A tenth grader with enough common sense can do good software development. India produces lot of people with good common sense and analytical thinking. That is one of the reasons for India's software boom.
IMO if you don't have a patent in your name, you are not high skilled enough.
2. How many consulting companies do you know do charge their candidates for filing H1 ? I haven't come accross any. It is illegal to do that. If someone is doing that, ICE is after them.
Do come out of your own imaginary world, I can forward you a dozen emails my wife gets from these so called messiahs of the IT industry. 3.
All I can say is you are as ignorant as some of the anti-immigrants in this country. You haven't seen the real world.Come out of your little world and look around to see the real world.
I am not anti-immigrant at all. There are good and hopeless people in every aspect of life , I see the H1-B visa or any employment based visa scheme as a prized posession and only the best should be allowed to lay claim on these ones which unfortunately isnt happening.
4. Yes, you are for whatever suits you. What about getting yourself a preferential treatment for H1B visa and GC ? Sounds good ?
No matter what I explain to you, you'd always be giving me a raw deal, I am not even going to explain myself.
BTW I am curious why you are referring to "consulting companies" as consultants. "consultant" and "consulting companies" mean different things.
OK thats a biggie I should have known better I'd be clear the next time around. Due apologies.

This is rather discouraging if this is true. This basically says one can't require any experience for zone IV if you require MS.
Well, MS + 11 month (but not 12) will do then, cause zone IV is has SVP "7.0 to < 8.0"
The question is then: In question 6-A on the PERM form do they mean experience including 4 yrs of MS or experience in addition to those 4? From my negative experience it looks like this number is what is used to compare with the respective SVP time, so it does include 4 yrs for MS (2 yrs for BS)
Any other opinions?

Dude I think you are thinking too much of it. USCIS is an organization that goes by a process. If they have a pending application, they have to process it. they decided in the summer of 2007 that they will hire additional contractors and process all the pending applications so that they reach their goal of 4 months processing times of 485.
Why will they waste their resources on your $325 dollars again dude? Is the amount that high that they will reopen the case at the time of finally alloting a visa number, and spend the money/resources on reviewing the case again?
Whatever be the PD, USCIS is all set for a month processing time of 485 by Sept 2009. All cases filed before Jun of this year should have been either pre-adjudicated or denied by that date.
I don't want to drastically oppose anybody's view or perceptions... But still I don't think that USCIS is an organization which goes with all the so called process models and they will stick with processing of the cases with priority basis - Yes, including all their country, category, etc quota fandas...
Otherwise we would not have seen people who are all with 2006 PD getting approvals where those who have better priority dates (with out tied up with any name check or other hassles) in the same cateogory and country are still waiting... Who knows whether they have some other agenda by getting 1000's of $325 from each applicant upfront, even they very well know that they would not able to do anything for those people in the near future? So why do they worry to take a few contractors for the time being and say bye bye after some time to them. By those uneducated contractors we have suffered a lot of back and forth mailing of the applications during 2007 July, there by making good business for Fedex and USPS. Anyways by that most of us got EAD... Thanks to such an act by the so called organization run by process model :D
Needless to say the small efforts as preadjudication or so will hopefully shed some light for our endless wait. I appreciate it... Better late than never. Atleast if they stop kicking the processing dates back and forth, just what we have seen in the last couple of months and offcourse in the past also, I would say "God Bless USCIS" for not making us fools again and agian.
my 2 cents...

I got your point and that of logiclife's and I agree....there is no need for them to mention it.
The writer could as easily have said "also" or "on an unrelated matter" or many other ways to dissociate "high-skilled" from "illegal", yet he purposefully chose to link the two with the word "but"

Hi Pankaj,
Was your case rejected due to the number of years of education (10+2+3+2 = 17)?
What if it is 3 + 3 ( 3 year Bsc Physics + 3 Year MCA) 10 + 2+3+3 = 18? I am wondering if USCIS would consider this equivalent to US masters? Came across a memo used by Nebraska Service center that says USCIS would consider 3+3 equivalent to US masters, but that memo was from 2006.
yes my case rejected due to number of years of education.
My case they rejected because i have 3 year Bsc and 2 year master now funny thing is that i know my friend who did similar course from same university but he did same master degree like me but in part time so he complete in 3 years and he got approval in 2009.

I called them several times yesterday until I was able to get hold of a good rep. Most of these reps are rude and they dont even care to listen to what I was asking.
The "good" rep told me that my case has been pre-adjudicated in the month of April and everything is all set and that they are waiting for the visa number. He said I might be getting another FP if it takes too long, but other than that everything is set. He did provide me quite a bit of information about my case, he told me that my name check and also background verification is also complete. He was even able to tell me how many EADs and APs have been issued to me against my 485. Hope this helps.
Did you call this number: (800) 375 5283? The lady I spoke to did not give me any information. I guess I have to keep trying. BTW are you SRC or LIN ?
Thanks!

What do you mean "heart, mind, soul, ethics were sold"? How do you know that? Just because someone called the U.S president "his president" does not mean he/she sold anything, let alone someone's soul and ethics. That is their right to call the U.S president his or hers.
What you said is totally uncalled for. If you are so patriotic, why are you applying for a green card and going by your own words, doesn't that mean you sold your ethics, heart, mind and soul too?
Are you kidding us? I do not know what level of education you have achieved so far in your life but it looks like you are not enough educated to differentiate between the definitions of permanent residency, citizenship and perhaps working on work visa as far as legal stay in USA by outsider is concerned.
What would be the "legal" reply from US Supreme court,if you ask US supreme court that whether citizen of other country can call US president a "My president"? . And What would be the "legal" reply from Supreme court of country A,if you ask that whether citizen of country A can call US president a "his/her president"?
USA expects someone to abide by the land of the law while s/he come to US to work legally. And what is expected legally is one is not involved in "Anti USA" activity whatsoever it may be.USA legally never expects citizen of other country "to love" or "show fidelity" towards USA when s/he is still the citizen of other country.
PavanV is right in his argument, in a sense, that when some person is citizen of country A at this moment his/her fidelity naturally must be for his/her country A. This is the legally expected human behaviour in every society and country. It would have been perfectly o.k. and "legal" about rsharma's statement if he would have already been US citizen at the time when he stated what he stated.
Such ridiculous, unnatural, premature, unethical and spineless behaviour can only be shown by the people who are already morally sold.
First of all when somebody comes here in USA on work visa, s/he has come on invitation from USA base legal employer's willingness and is ethically, legally and morally obligated to provide professional class and quality of work for what s/he is hired. Nothing more or less is legally expected by USA and employment system within USA. USA and its whole society is well aware that these persons are citizen of other countries and so they never expects any kind of fidelity from them at least "legally" and at the same time they even do not grant the rights what US citizen nornmally have. Now out of that bunch many people prefer to go for permanent residency as permanent residency bring little bit stability in living and flexibility in employment and international travel. If one becomes a permanent resident of USA then also USA still only expects that person abide by the law of the land and do not involve in "anti USA" activity. It still does not expect "fidelity" towards USA in legal sense. There is no legal or social or political or any kind of pressure from USA or any governmental or non governmental institutes within USA on any particular person coming from other country to become its citizen. One can stay on permanent residency forever till death(At least based on current prevalent law) and legally work and s/he does not have to become a citizen for working legally. And I do not know about other countries but in India it is not considered "illegal" and/or "unpatriotic" to go in other country(Except Pakistan and Bangladesh) for legal work so coming to USA for legal work whether on work visa or becoming a permanent resident in USA while maintaining Indian citizenship simultaneously is not unpatriotic or illegal. Simultaneously USA's legal system allows an Indian to remain as citizen of India while residing in USA permanently for legal work.
Now if somebody decides to become a US citizen, there is nothing wrong in that. I do not see anything wrong when rsharma states that "I have decided to become US citizen in future". But if he is mature and human enough then his fidelity at this moment should be towards India (Assuming he is a citizen of India currently) as he is a citizen of India at this moment. Showing this kind of behaviour perhaps may not be a outright unpatriotic in terms of "Indianness" but it certanily signals probable but strong disloyality towards India.
And I do not think that USA citizens are that naive that they consider the people "not mingled" if citizen of other country do not call USA president a "My president" while holding the citizenship of other country.
If calling US president a "My President" by non citizens would be the barometer of "mixing" / "mingling" then USA would not be today's USA. So please do not kid USA and us .
What you said is totally uncalled for. If you are so patriotic, why are you applying for a green card and going by your own words, doesn't that mean you sold your ethics, heart, mind and soul too?
