This is similar to how I feel about Exchange/Outlook. Companies want to use Exchange only because it is one stop shopping for IT. In a corporate environment, Exchange is so inadequate as to be laughable. This is from a user stand point. It message/email tracking are simply pathetic IMO. It really feels like it is a personal email system forced to live in a corporate environment.
I have used Notes extensively as a database platform and have been dually impressed with what it can do. In one case, it was a bug/change tracking system and the implementation of the database was simply sweet. I have never heavily used the email system but going from Groupwise to Exchange was a shock in just how bad Exchange was.

1. They care more about the dollar than about usability and employee satisfaction
2. The VP of IT is probably sleeping with the IBM rep
3. The business only uses it because they don't know any better (they've been there too long and have never used anything other than Notes and AOL).
4. They think that Notes databases are cool and hip and truly believe Access is an enterprise level database
5. And finally, they are so damn stupid they probably have Lotus 123 and Word Perfect as their "Office Suite"

Okay, this one I doubt....why would you want to tie a phone into iChat? Instant messaging is on almost or available to every phone sold within the last 2 years or so. I don't see why that would bee something Apple would want to advertise when a lot of run-of-the-mill phones can do it.

I did meet SJ once, and yes, he comes off as arrogant and can be a real tough guy to work for, but, the impression I got from listening to him was that he truly just loves creating cool things and wants to make a difference. And guess what... he has. We'd be in the PC dark ages if it wasn't for Apple. Consumer products would be a technology mess if Apple didn't show others that design and quality matter. Smart phones were a mess until the iPhone came out and showed everyone else how to do it.
So... I know in your delusional skewed view, you think I'm nuts. But business is not about Power... at least not in the companies I've worked for.
As for the lawsuits... it's just business and they'll get over it.

I'm looking for a good dock that I can use my iPod nano and iPhone 3g with. I'm going for sound clarity and good volume.. and would like to budget at around $100.
Would prefer one that works with an AC Adapter as well as battery's.

4.3 and 4.3.1 has been a disaster. The animations are so choppy it makes it almost androidesque. I hope they actually fix it this time rather than just patching a jailbreak. I wish I could go back to 4.2.1 where the phone was actually stable and smooth.
I noticed the same after upgrading to 4.3.x on my iPad.
The UI is no longer as responsive as it used to be, and I also noticed there's a memory leak somewhere; not sure if it's caused by an application or the system itself is not reallocating memory properly.
Powering OFF and restarting it every few days keeps it running better, but I still feel it's slower than before. :mad:

It's sad that we live in a society where actors, pop/rap stars, sports stars, etc. get paid mega bucks while professions like "school teacher" get paid peanuts.
I agree, it is sad. But it is simple economics i'm afraid.
There is only one Tom Cruise or Jay-Z, so the supply of the 'talents' they bring to any project is massively small against a seemingly large demand, hence a huge fee is commanded.
Mr X the Schoolteacher, however, has no such bargaining power as there's a relatively large supply of people who could do the job.

I do believe, I and a whole bunch of friends and other ppl have used that F word at ppl that are clearly not gay. It's just colloquial and doesn't have anything to do with homosexuality. Maybe in a "small" way (i.e. "Don't be a F"), in some cases it's supposed to imply that you are "scared like a girl (or a guy who thinks he is a girl...who presumably will be scared like one)" in some sense. I wonder how many of these posts are trolls? I haven't had any issues whatsoever with 4.3.1. I also didn't have any problems with 4.3; battery life has been absolutely stellar and call performance actually improved in 4.3.1.
